Online Video Training has recently been made available for all users and evaluators of Railcar Tracking Company’s rail shipment tracking and fleet management system, Railcar Management System (RMS) ™.
“In the past, we offered only instructor-led, online training. Then a customer told us that they really needed to learn after business hours because they were just too busy. We also noticed that when a large group was together for a training session, some would think the topic was either too detailed or too high level. Business managers would be interested in the reporting features and traffic managers would be interested in how to add dimensions to a railcar in the fleet. It wasn’t 100% productive time for anyone.” says Jim Dalrymple, Product Director at Railcar Tracking Company.
To overcome these issues, Railcar Tracking Company recorded over 30 video training sessions and placed them on their web site.
The web address is: http://www.railcartracking.com/learning_center.html.
Now users and evaluators can watch a training video during a lunch hour or after work at home. All that is needed is a web browser. The videos have been divided into very specific topics. This allows people in different departments with different interests to learn about the feature that interests them. As a result, each video is only 10 minutes or less making the time spent watching highly productive.
